The investigation of school institutions in Rio Grande do Sul, coordinated by Professor José Edimar de Souza, seeks to understand the historical and social dynamics behind the establishment of school groups in the state. Our goal was to document the creation of the digital repository
Repositório ECOAR, which compiles results from research projects conducted between 2017 and 2024. The study draws on the perspective of
História Social e Documental (Souza, Belusso, 2019), combined with the
Discussão Sobre Transformação Digital no Tratamento de Acervos (Rabelo, Cé, 2023). Methodologically, it employs
Pesquisa Bibliográfica e Documental (Alves, 1992), along with analysis of digital platforms and their documentation. The repository was built on WordPress using the Blocksy theme and the Elementor, Stackable, and Tainacan plugins. Its initial structure features collections filtered by metadata and a visual identity designed by Samanta Vanz. The site currently hosts over 40 items (theses, dissertations, and books) and has received more than 50 unique visits. So far, the team has participated at two events: the VIII Colóquio História e Memória da Educação no Rio Grande do Norte and the III Seminário Online de Estudos Interdisciplinares. The repository continues to grow through ongoing curation and optimization efforts. and contributes to preserving memory of schooling in the Vale dos Sinos and Serra Gaúcha regions, aligning solid theoretical foundations, rigorous methodology, and accessible technology.
